Exposing students to BIPOC stories, authors and professionals through storytimes
In person and virtual storytimes expose children to BIPOC authors and stories. Programs and events take place on Saturdays through out the year. We hold a yearly Latinx Heritage Month Celebration at the Belmont Library in the Bronx where children meet local Latinx authors and receive books focused on the Latinx culture.
Children in K-3rd grade are matched with college student volunteers for weekly virtual reading sessions. The program takes place from October-May and is currently only opened to Bronx students. Program registration takes place in August.
Free books that focus on characters of color and BIPOC authors are provided to participants to build at home library. With only one physical bookstore in the Bronx our mission is to ensure that children have access to free quality books that represent Black and Latinx stories.
Teaching children in K-5th grade financial literacy and entrepreneurship
Book clubs and workshops for students in 4th-5th grades that focuses on financial education and entrepreneurship. Children also have the opportunity to meet local entrepreneurs.
Through storytimes and workshops, children learn basic concepts of personal finances and entrepreneurship. Storytimes are held at local banks, parks and community centers.
6 week program that teaches financial literacy and entrepreneurship to kids in 3rd-5th grade. Books are provided to encourage reading and build their at home library.. We focus on entrepreneurship because it helps children learn money management skills and how to build wealth. This program is currently only offered at two Bronx schools.

We participate in yearly initiatives that give back to families in need
We participate in yearly community events by providing free books, activities, back to school supplies and toy drives.
Every year we assist two Bronx college students with a scholarship that covers their textbook expenses for the year. One of our recipients received support throughout her four years of college.
We offer events throughout the year that bring the community together! In 2022, we hosted the first Halloween Trick or Treat event at Fordham University in the Bronx. This was a collaboration with Fordham University's Office of Campus Ministry. The event has become an annual tradition!
